4-H Achievement Reception planned

Woodward, Okla. — Members of 4-H are invited to attend the Woodward County 4-H Achievement Reception, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 at the new Woodward Conference Center.

Woodward County OSU Extension Agent-4-H Melanie Lynes-Matt said about 100 youngsters are expected. They will be presented certificates, trophies and plaques for their accomplishments in various projects during the past 4-H year.

These projects include record book preparation; tree planting; horses; dairy and beef cows; development of technological skills for record keeping; and shooting sports, including clay and skeet shooting.

The reception also provides an opportunity for 4-H students to meet and interact with their peers from across Woodward County.

"We have a great time with 4-H people from across the county," Lynes-Matt said.

Those wanting to attend the reception are asked to reserve their place before Aug. 10 by e-mailing Lynes-Matt at melanie.lynes_matt@okstate.edu, or Barbara Dudley at barbara.dudley@okstate.edu.  Reservations can also be made by calling the Woodward County OSU Extension Office at (580) 254-3391.
