Contracts on county agenda

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County Commissioners are slated to act on 2 contracts Monday that relate to a proposed improvement project for the county fairgrounds.

The commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1 in the Woodward County Courthouse.

One of the largest items on the agenda includes action on a contract with Joe D. Hall, general contractors LLC as construction managers for the Woodward County Fairgrounds Improvement project, according to Charolett Waggoner, county clerk.

"They are the ones that built the jail, and the people with the fairgrounds improvement project want them because of the excellent job they did on the new jail," Waggoner said.

County commissioners will also be taking action on a contract with Stephen H. McDonald and Associates, Inc. to serve as financial advisors for the fairgrounds project.

"Since it will be a bond issue, Stephen H. McDonald and Associates will be taking care of all the prep work for the bond," Waggoner said.

She said that as of now, no plans have been drawn up for the fairgrounds project.

In other action, commissioners will consider approval of a corrected service agreement between the Sac and Fox Nation and the commissioners for juvenile detention services.

"The previous agreement had some topographical errors in it, so they sent us back a corrected one for the commissioners to sign," Waggoner said.

The commissioners will also consider a request for rezoning a tract of land located at NW/4 of Section 16-T22N-R20WIM containing 3 acres from C-2, general commercial to I-2, general industrial for AJ Property Investments, LLC.

"They have had several companies interested in buying this property for use in the oil field, which would require the rezoning of the land," Waggoner said.

Other items include action on bids opened and tabled at the Sept. 17 meeting for a 300 gallon wildland skid unit for the Mutual Fire Department and requests from DCP Southern Hills for 14 utility permits for directional drilling of gas pipeline under Districts 1 and 3 roads.
