Part of local road closed

Woodward News

Woodward, Okla. — Part of Hanks Trail was closed Friday night due to a major accident.

Police had the road closed between 34th and 22nd Streets for the accident. The road was still closed as of 10 p.m. as an investigation into the accident continued.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area. The road is blocked at High Plains Technology Center and at 22nd and Hanks Trail.

According to police scanner traffic a medical examiner has been called to the scene.

Additional details are unavailable at this time.

Note: Hanks Trail was opened back up just after 11 p.m.
