Woodward County Commissioners approved an agreement with the Natural Resources Conservation District for Emergency Watershed Projects.
Funds from emergency watershed projects will be used to repair a stream bank next to a bridge at Persimmon Creek and prevent erosion of a bank in District No. 2, which was damaged by heavy rains two months ago.
In other business, the commissioners entered into attendant care agreements with Roy A. May, Dakota Adair and Elizabeth Peterson.
As attendant care givers, the three will sit with juveniles waiting to go before a judge at the Custer County Court House.
Commissioners also renewed membership in the County Officers and Deputies Association for 2009-10 and approved a request from SandRidge Energy Inc.
SandRidge will bore electrical lines under District No. 1 roadways and install and overhead crossing in the Curtis area east of Mooreland, according to the commissioners.
In addition, commissioners approved an order from SandRidge for county mineral interest in District No. 1.
“If they (SandRidge) make a well and get some gas production, the county could have some money coming in,” Commissioner Ted Craighead, District No. 2, said during the meeting Monday while signing the order.
“Not much, though,” he said.
In addition, the commission:
• Approved a resolution setting county election workers’ compensation criteria from school, municipal and special elections in fiscal year 2009-10.
• Opened sealed bids for concrete, road emulsions, contract hauling and road chipping and sealing for highway districts.
• Approved a bid with Logan Co. Asphalt for road patching.
