After 45 years of service in the financial industry Olen Thomas is retiring. The Bank of Vici will be holding a reception for Thomas in the bank’s lobby from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday.
Thomas is currently the vice president at the Bank of Vici, but began his career in Woodward.
In 1964 he became manager of the Woodward office of Bankers Investment Co., which was later purchased by Security Pacific National Bank.
In 1987 Thomas became vice president at American National Bank in Woodward and remained there until July of 1995. He then became executive vice president and manager of the Woodward branch of the 1st State Bank of Mooreland, which is currently the Central National Bank of Enid.
In 2001 Thomas joined the staff of the Bank of Vici. In 2008 he was elected to serve on the Board of Directors, where he will continue to be following his retirement as vice president.
“We will definitely miss him,” said Jo Ann Rohrer, vice president and cashier at the bank. “He’s probably irrepressible so I’ve told him I have his number on speed dial.”
Despite working in Vici, Thomas is still involved in organizations based in Woodward. He is a member of the Woodward Elks Lodge, serves on the Woodward EMS board and the Vici Chamber of Commerce.
“I’m hoping to have a full house,” Rohrer said of the reception.
The Bank of Vici is located at 121 West Broadway in Vici.
