Wind energy meeting set in Vici

Questions about wind energy, anyone?

The Dewey, Ellis and Woodward County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service and concerned citizens from the area will conduct a public forum on wind energy at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Vici School Auditorium in Vici.

Anyone interested in wind energy is invited to attend.

“The meeting is informational and for farmers or landowners in the area,” said Dana Bay, OSU extension agent for Woodward County.

Topics of discussion will include an overview of wind energy, understanding wind energy leases and their landowner impacts and how do deal with wind energy contracts. It also will include time lines for wind energy construction, environmental effects and legal aspects of oil and gas leases.

The speaker at the program will be Shannon Ferrell, OSU economic specialist and professor of agriculture law.

People who have questions about wind energy should try to attend the meeting, Bay said.
