Area received more snow on Monday
Woodward County saw another one to two inches of snow that fell in the wee hours Monday and into the day, right on the heels of melting snow that fell last week.
"It's shutting down now," Emergency Management Director Matt Lehenbauer said Monday afternoon. “The major snow is pretty well dissipating.”
But while Woodward County received as much as two inches Monday, heavier bands of snowfall were recorded in Harper County and into Southwest Kansas, he said.
In addition to snow, Lehenbauer said the Woodward area also saw "about an inch-and-a-half of rain associated with drizzle" Monday.
The precipitation caused slick conditions, and there were several reports of vehicles sliding off the roads, he said.
However, only one injury accident was reported, which occurred Monday morning at the U.S. Highway 270 and State Highway 34 junction southeast of Woodward.
A woman in the accident was transported to Woodward Regional Hospital for treatment, Lehenbauer said.
He warned against icy patches on the roads for today and Wednesday, and noted another system has a 20 percent chance of bringing two more inches of snow on Thursday.
All together in the last two weeks, Lehenbauer noted, Woodward County has received about six inches of snow.
