Calling all shutterbugs for 24-hour event

Woodward, Okla. — The Woodward News has scheduled a new project - one in which we hope readers will be active participants.

On Friday, Aug. 31, the Woodward News will be doing a 24-hour photo shoot, going from midnight to midnight.

The News will have photographers out and about during the early morning hours, throughout the day and into the evening - which, by the way, is the opening night of high school football season in these parts. We understand it could possibly be opening night for the Lakeside 6 theaters as well.

We plan on having photos from Woodward and several surrounding communities to publish in a special edition in September.

To do this, we are also asking for participation from our readers.

On that day, anyone with a camera could become a Woodward News photographer. We are asking readers, locally and throughout the area, to take some photos during the 24-hour period and submit them for inclusion. You can use any type of camera as well as your smartphones to take the photos.

If you decide to take part, there are a couple of things we need you to do. First, write down the exact time that you took the photo and be sure to send that in along with a description of the photo and names of anyone in the picture and.  Please include the name of the photographer as well.

Photos from Aug. 31 can be submitted to editor@woodwardnews.net.

With your help, we hope to make a keepsake edition of photos for everyone to enjoy.
