Woodward, Okla. — Tammy VanHouten and Scott Shaw announce their engagement and plans to marry on April 10, 2010 at the Calvary Christian Church in Bellevue, Nebraska.

VanHouten is the daughter of Brad VanHouten and Julie VanHouten of Emerson, Iowa.  She is the granddaughter of Max and Gwen  Hossle, Red Oak, Iowa.  She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2006 with a bachelors degree in marketing.  She is currently employed by Applied Underwriters, Omaha, Nebraska.

Shaw is the son of Randy and Peggy Shaw of Woodward.  He is the grandson of Fern Day, also of Woodward.   He is a 1997 graduate of Woodward High School and a 2007 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelors degree in professional aeronautics.  He is currently employed as an Aerospace Technician at Offutt Air Force Base, Bellevue, Nebraska.
